The price of an air conditioner unit is mostly based on the power capacity it can handle. A cheap AC within the Cheapism price range is less than $300 and you can find models between 5,000-12,000 BTUs for that price. These products are aimed at residential rooms for up to 500 square feet. Few cheap air conditioners also incorporate energy-saving features to save users money in the long run. However, the claim of being Energy Star rated is not enough to raise the price and in most cases the cost-savings are miniscule.
