Back-to-School: These Multifunction Printers Do More for Less

Forget the pencils and notebooks. What modern college students really need is a multi-function printer. PC Magazine has pulled together a list of five cheap all-in-ones that can print, scan, and copy; some models on the list fax and some don't.

"As the summer fun slowly comes to an end it's time to start to think about what you (or your favorite student) need before heading back to school. For most students, a reasonably priced multifunction printer (MFP) is a good choice.

MFPs can handle a variety of needs such as printing, scanning, copying, and faxing--some MFPs don't have faxing capabilities (which shouldn't be a critical omission for most students). Most inkjets, including all the MFPs featured here, are more than adequate for casual photo printing..."
