It's hard to beat the appeal of a cheap smartphone with a prepaid plan. But read this review of the Kyocera Loft by PC Magazine before rushing out to buy your very own. With the good, there's also some not so good.

"Looking for the cheapest possible texting phone in America? The Kyocera Loft certainly comes close. It features a usable QWERTY keyboard, several social networking clients, GPS, a camera, and a Web browser. That's a lot of features for an inexpensive phone that works with Virgin Mobile's low-cost, prepaid plans. It's tough to beat that kind of value, although the Loft's useless camera, mediocre call quality and short battery life were significant downsides..."
