You know all those textbooks piled high on your desk? Well, they're soon to be yet another relic of the past. WalletPop has a report on a new iPad app for digital textbooks. It's not perfect -- no highlighting, for example -- but it sure beats lugging all those heavy books home during fall break.
"Digital textbooks, or eTextbooks, have long been on the horizon of higher education, offering the promise of timely but cheap textbooks that could be carried on a single device. The debut of the iPad in April brought renewed interest in eTextbooks but the first efforts of publishers fell short in offering a usable alternative to the hard-copy textbook.
