Choosing the cheapest iPad data plan is a bit like playing roulette. There's a lot of chance involved because you just don't know which way the ball (or in this case, your demand for data) will go. That's a stretch, we know, but as CNN Money points out, making sense of all the plans in light of what you know and don't know about your data needs carries an element of risk.
