Hunger challenge: Tips on eating well on the cheap
Good cheap food tips are a dime a dozen. Komonews.com found they're also easy to squeeze into 144 characters or less. To these we might add: learn to love leftovers, make soups with vegetable scraps and meat bones, buy fresh fruits and vegetables in season, prepare your own pasta sauce, avoid the prepared foods at the take-out counter, and walk right on by the processed foods in the refrigerator/freezer section and the snack aisles.
No need to deny yourself a splurge now and then, but a healthy diet can also be a low-cost diet. It's worth a try, isn't it?
