Options abound for cutting your ticket price by 50 percent. You can download the TDF iPhone app to let you know how many tickets are left at one of three discount ticket booths around the city. Certain shows let you sign up a few hours beforehand for slashed prices, or, try scoring standing room admission.

Other ways to get cheap Broadway tickets in NYC include signing up for the Theatre Development Fund to get up to 70 percent off show prices. You can only get this membership if you meet certain criteria, like being over age 62, a military member, student or teacher. You can buy two tickets for $30 if you're under age 30 through the Manhattan Theatre Club, look for discounts at Broadwaybox.com, or get $5 tickets through an online draw at Playwrightshorizons.org.
