Move over, Hoarders. There's a new show in town on TLC that reveals more people cramming too much stuff into their houses, but this time, it's in the name of discount shopping. Hollywood Reporter gives an Extreme Couponing review, saying that while the show's cast is impressive in the bargains they're able to bag -- like spending just under $44 on $1,000 worth of stuff -- their behavior is still compulsive.

More than that, so much couponing means a lot of buying in bulk, which results in a ton of food and other items with nowhere to go in the house. When one cast member says her family's saved $40,000 by this method, the Extreme Couponing review reporter wonders why the woman can't just get a job for the same amount of money.

There are other things to consider besides the overstuffed house. Such cutthroat coupon clipping takes tons of time, for both the person doing it and the poor clerk at the checkout counter (thank goodness self-checkout only lets you scan a certain number of items). One commenter brings up an interesting point: aren't there limits on how many coupons you can use in a store?

The short answer is "yes." Couponing 101 stresses that you can normally only use one manufacturer coupon per item. You can often pair these with store coupons. Some online discount sites only let you print a certain number of coupons, like five. You'll have to check with your local stores to learn the policy.

Have you watched Extreme Couponing? Are these people sick or savvy?
