With Sundays and Mondays soon to be consumed by football mania, many consumers are searching for flat-screen TV deals to reinforce their devotion. Retailers on their end are responding with hard-to-resist LCD TV deals. Most sales cover LED and LCD models, but a few 3D TVs have been thrown into the fray, as well.

Best Buy's flat-screen TV deals include a Samsung 40" Class LCD TV for $599.99, which sits right at the top of our Cheapism price range for LCD TVs. Circuit City is giving Best Buy a bit of competition with its HDTV TV Week, which requires that you sign up to receive an "invitation." Once your request goes through, you'll find a host of flat-screen TV deals, such as a Vizio 47" LCD HDTV for $479.99, more than half off its original price, and a Westinghouse 46" LED HDTV knocked down by more than $400 to land at $579.99. The retailer's one 3D offering is refurbished and is going for $1,200, which is the starting point of the price range in Cheapism's guide to 3D TVs.

Not to be outdone, Target, Walmart, and Kmart also have skin in the flat-screen TV deals frenzy. Target is less generous with its discounts than other major retailers, however: some prices have been cut by just $10 or so in what the company is calling the "biggest TV event ever." The same Vizio 47" LCD HDTV on sale at Circuit City for less than $500 is $699.99 at Target and just $50 less than its original price. That said, Target is offering enticing flat-screen TV deals on smaller models, like the Polaroid 19" LCD HDTV for $159.99 (save $30). The prize for the biggest discount at Target goes to the Vizio 42" LED LCD HDTV, which is selling for $849.99 after a $400 price cut. Walmart is fielding its double-whammy "Game Time" and "Off to College 2011" sales that include LCD, LED, and HDTVs marked down by $150 or more. Some of the better flat-screen TV deals include the Vizio 42" LCD HDTV for only $399 and the Phillips 40" LCD HDTV for $499.99 (a $300 savings). Kmart's fall TV sale covers several plasma, LED, and LCD models in the 40" segment bearing price tags ranging between $359 and $588.

The warehouse clubs are big into flat-screen TV deals right now, too. Through Sept. 11, savings similar to what you'll find at Target can be yours at Costco, where a Panasonic 32" LCD TV is going for $299.99 with free shipping. BJ's is cutting up to $500 off Samsung LED TVs and $100 off Vizio LED and LCD models. And Sam's Club is offering deals on Samsung and Sharp LED TVs.

Some retailers held fall TV sales in conjunction with Labor Day deals that expired on Monday, but you can still scoop up some steals this week and next, particularly at major department stores. Sears, for instance, has its "Ultimate Football Experience" sale with specials like the highly-rated Sony 40" LCD TV for $599.99 and the Samsung 43" Plasma HDTV for $479.99, both of which fall within the Cheapism price niche. The promotion also includes a few 3D TVs, such as the Samsung 55" 3D LED, knocked down a whopping $1,200 to $1,999, a price that's within the budget realm. JC Penney's flat-screen TV deals, with savings of $50-$200, are mostly available online. Prices on five of the sale items are under Cheapism's ceiling for LCD TVs, and the Samsung 51" Plasma 3D TV, tagged at $1299.99 for a $200 savings, sits right at the start of our budget range for this technology.
