Clothes and shoes in larger sizes often carry larger price tags, especially in bricks-and-mortar stores. Online, however, you'll find a wealth of retailers that offer cheap plus-size clothing.

Cheap Plus-Size Clothing for Men.

Big and Tall Mart sells men's clothing up to size 8XL. Much of the clothing here is comparable in price to, or cheaper than, regular-size clothing. This online vendor also offers scrubs, which can be very hard to find in larger sizes. Men seeking cheap plus-size clothing that's work-related, such as coveralls and ANSI jackets, will find sizes up to 6XT. While much of the focus is on casual clothing, this online store also carries dress pants, coats, and jackets.

Bargain Catalog Outlet offers both big and tall sizes as well as cheap women's plus-size clothing. The selection is not as large as you'll find in some online stores, but prices are very low, starting at about $10 for shirts. Once again, casual clothes are the norm here, but there's a limited range of sport coats and dress slacks. BCOutlet also sells discount underwear in big and tall sizes -- another category that's often hard to find locally.

Cheap Plus-Size Clothing for Women

Bargain Catalog Outlet boasts a women's selection that's a bit more comprehensive than its big and tall offerings for men. Cheap plus-size clothing for women here goes up to 32W, compared with a max of 26W at most physical stores. This vendor carries a line of dress clothes and also offers plus-size scrubs. Prices are very low, starting at around $10 for tunics and shirts.

Catherines, a subsidiary of Lane Bryant, stocks a large selection of cheap plus-size clothing. Dress clothes are easy to find here; ditto for resort wear and casual clothing. While the styles are a tad behind current Lane Bryant offerings, the prices are very low, starting at just $3 for shirts. Catherines also carries a line-up of plus-size intimate apparel.

Cheap Plus-Size Shoes

Barefoot Tess sells fashionable and comfortable women's shoes in sizes 11 to 15. Numerous styles are priced at less than $40, while the highest prices climb up to about $300. Barefoot Tess offers a wide selection of flats, sandals, and casual and dress shoes.

Big Shoes is a men's shoe store specializing in sizes from 13 to 22. The styles run the gamut from casual and athletic shoes to work boots. Numerous brand names, such as Nike, Adidas, Dr. Martens, and Timberland, are available at discount prices.

Oddball sells only up to size 16 for men, but it offers a line of apparel, as well. The prices here are low, even for some name brands. Oddball also carries socks for larger feet, which are not easy to find at regular retail stores.
