What's the Cheapest Tablet?
With the slew of new tablets floating around the marketplace, you may want to know: what's the cheapest tablet? That would be the Velocity Cruz Tablet, available at Amazon and Kmart for $100. This is an Android OS tablet with a seven-inch touch screen and 800x480 color display. It comes with two 8GB SD cards and connects to the internet via an 802.11n Wifi. Unlike the priciest tablet out there, Apple's iPad, this cheapest tablet has a built-in USB port and an SD card slot for upgradable storage. Also unlike the iPad, it features a user-replaceable battery that offers up to 10 hours of use between charges.
If you want the hottest cheapest tablet, which also happens to be the latest contestant in the tablet sweepstakes, be prepared to shell out $200 as you pre-order the Kindle Fire from Amazon. The Kindle Fire has a seven-inch multi-touch display with anti-reflective treatment and 1024x600 resolution. It boasts 8GB storage and free Amazon cloud storage for Amazon content. The Kindle Fire also has a USB port and connects to the internet via an 802.11n wifi. The battery runs for eight hours between charges.
