Nat'l Parks offer much-needed summer bargain
Here's a deal nature lovers in need of a low-cost vacation should not pass up: free admission to 147 national parks on three weekends this summer. The Arizona Daily Star offers all the details, and then some.
"The National Park Service is offering a nice freebie to everyone this summer -- and it's especially welcome during a summer of economic crisis: free park admission for three weekends."During these tough economic times, our national parks provide opportunities for affordable vacations for families," Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said in announcing the free passes, according to The Associated Press. "I encourage everyone to visit one of our nation's crown jewels this summer, and especially to take advantage of the three free-admission weekends..."
