Thrifty Holiday Shoppers Finding Deals In Secondhand Shops

For those of us who think there's a stigma attached to gently-used items as gifts, get over it! Hard economic times are forcing people to unload what they can't afford to keep, and WBNS 10-TV reports shoppers are finding a wealth of cheap items at pawn shops and the Goodwill store.

"When people hear pre-owned or used, they may think of cars, but it can also mean thrifty holiday gifts.

More people are turning to buying gifts which are gently used, 10TV's Tanisha Mallett reported Monday.

Marnetta Williams has been looking for the perfect Christmas gift.

"I come here basically all the time," Williams said.

Williams wants a nice ring for a decent price and said Uncle Sam's Pawn Shop on East Main Street was her first stop..."
