The thought of a quiet beach under clear Caribbean skies sure sounds appealing at this time of year. So check out this article in The Statesman, which suggests five island destinations that just might qualify as a cheap vacation.

"The Caribbean is lovely any time of year, but often it's an exercise in frustration when trying to book a holiday you can afford. The good news is that there are some islands that give you more bang for your buck than other islands. But be aware that some hotels on all islands may try to get you to pay for a meal plan if you are visiting during the high season. Indeed, in general, prices are higher from December though mid-April, but then drop considerably during the low season. No matter when you decide to go, here are five ideas for stretching your money..."
