Survey: Newark cheapest gas in U.S.

If you have any reason to be passing through the Garden State (New Jersey, that is), you might want to wend your way over to Newark. The Star Ledger reports on a survey showing that this is where you'll find the cheapest gasoline prices in the U.S.

"In a national survey of regular gasoline prices during the three weeks ending Friday, April 9, the cheapest gasoline was in Newark, where a gallon averaged $2.64. The highest price among cities surveyed was Honolulu at $3.43 gallon, reports Bloomberg.

The average price of regular gasoline at U.S. filling stations rose to $2.852 a gallon as crude oil futures jumped more than 5 percent..."
