Report: Inexpensive Mahindra Pickups Could Hit U.S. This Summer

Hankering for a cheap pickup truck? If so, get in line for the possible late-summer release of a fuel-efficient Indian-built pickup that US News & World Report says could sell for less than $25,000.

"Does a small pickup with a 30-mpg highway rating and a price tag under $25,000 sound enticing? With both the size and the price of pickups escalating rapidly in recent years, there might well be a market for such a vehicle – if the company behind it could actually bring the truck to market in the U.S. After a long wait, reports say, we may finally be close to seeing them on the road.

Autoblog reports, "We could have Mahindra pickup trucks on U.S. roads before the end of August." The Indian automaker has "330 dealers signed up and raring to go," but hasn't revealed the date its products will finally go on sale..."
