Trucks dominate list of cheapest vehicles to insure

Ever wonder why it costs more to insure some cars than others? USA Today says it's largely about repair costs, and non-car vehicles are the cheapest to fix. Of the 10 cheapest vehicles to insure, only one car -- a micro version, at that -- makes the list.

"The cheapest car to insure isn't a car, it's a work van, the Ford E350 Econoline. The second-cheapest car to insure isn't a car either, it's a small SUV, the Mercury Mariner. Next? Chevrolet Traverse.

So goes a list from the government on the cheapest cars and trucks to insure, which Ford is trumpeting today because it believes it has a lot of vehicles on the list..."
