Panasonic VIERA VT25 Plasma 3D HDTV Review
Plasma sets tend to trump LCD/LED TVs when it comes to black levels and viewing angles, and so it is with Panasonic's VIERA VT25. This cheap 3D TV produces stunning 2D video and provides a better 3D experience than the rest of the competition.
Panasonic's Viera VT25 series of TVs earned kudos across the board from experts and users alike. Hometheatermag.com called the VT25's 3D performance "supurb," a high compliment for a new technology that is notoriously rough around the edges. Cnet.com gives the VT25 4 stars out of 5, praising the TV for its "outstanding" 2D picture, great black levels, and uniform color and brightness. Cnet.com also notes almost no crosstalk when watching the TV in 3D mode, unlike other 3D TVs.
The Panasonic Viera VT25 line of plasma 3D TVs have screen sizes from 50 inches to 65 inches. The VT25 runs a full HD picture at the usual aspect ratio of 16:9. The VT25 has several inputs, including 4 HDMI inputs, 2 USB 2.0 inputs, and inputs for component and composite connections. Panasonic will spot you one pair of 3D glasses with a VT25 set - additional glasses cost $179.
We love plasma TVs. Their drawbacks are few, but the picture quality is tough to beat. We saw more glowing reviews of this TV's 3D abilities than any other set, and it's an excellent 2D TV to boot. The Viera VT25 is on the pricey side, but we feel it's worth the extra cash.
