Jabra Wave Review
Jabra Wave 4 Star Rating: Cheapism Good Pick
Summary:
The design of this device screams "Bluetooth headset." It's large and wraps around the ear, but its length places the boom mike closer to your mouth than most headsets. Some users have a hard time fitting it to their ears but praise the sound quality and noise reduction.

If you're looking for a headset with stunning design, this isn't it. It looks like you're simply wearing a headset. The strength of this model is its noise cancellation, according to Jabra Wave reviews, particularly if you live someplace windy. The device has an over-the ear design with a long mike that reaches close to the user's mouth. A Jabra Wave review at PCMag indicates that the headset is made of flexible plastic and may require some twisting and turning at first to get a good fit. A user who posted a Jabra Wave review at the Apple Store site points out that the flip side of this is that it twists out of the ear. The Wave comes with two sets of eargels to help achieve a better fit. It's fairly light, at less than half an ounce, so consumers find it easy to wear for long periods.

Controls for the Jabra Wave are on top of the earpiece, with the exception of the answer/end call button, which is on the boom. The device emits an audible sound when a call comes through, although a user who posted a Jabra Wave review on Amazon finds that it can be hard to hear in noisy situations.

The voice transmission is excellent, according to Jabra Wave reviews, perhaps because the mike is so close to the user's mouth. The device also includes a little foam cover to put on the boom when the wind is blowing. A user posting on Amazon raves that the noise cancellation works perfectly with the windows rolled down in the car. Consumers report that the Wave doesn't drop a connection unless it's more than about 15 feet away from the phone.

The Jabra Wave can be charged via USB in addition to a wall adapter or car charger. The battery should last through about 8 hours of talk time. Audio alerts tell users when the battery is running low and when the headset has successfully connected to another device. Pairing is easy -- one user of an iPhone 4 reports on Amazon that it takes five seconds. The Wave can pair with multiple devices simultaneously.

(Note that there's also a Jabra Wave with a cord, so if you order online, make sure you're getting the Bluetooth version.)
