Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 Review
Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10

Sanyo's Xacti VPC-CG10 isn't a complete bust, but users and expert reviewers seemto find as many drawbacks with the device as they do positive features. A Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 review on CNET

likes the camcorder overall, noting that its high-def video quality is pretty good, but the review slams the product for its slow autofocus and poor-quality still photos. A Macworld Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 review isn't as impressed with the Xacti's video quality, and others note that even though the Xacti VPC-CG10 has more features than most pocket camcorders, the device is also more complicated to use.

The Xacti VPC-CG10, unlike other budget pocket camcorders, has a 5X optical zoom, which is certainly one of its strong points. It also records video in high definition (720p), and has an image stabilization feature. The Xacti VPC-CG10 boasts a large 3-inch LCD and an unusual pistol grip design. It can store video to SD/SDHC cards, and can transfer that video via a composite connection. Although composite connections are good for high-def video, HDMI is the better option, and unfortunately this budget camcorder doesn't include an HDMI port.

Sanyo's design for the Xacti VPC-CG10 is interesting, and it packs a lot of hard-to-find features into this small pocket camcorder. It's not a bad device, but there are some caveats that make us hesitant to recommend it.
