Acer Aspire AX3200-U1790A Review
Summary:
This Acer Aspire system looks pretty good on paper, with an Athlon CPU, 640GB hard drive, and 4GB of RAM. But it still runs Windows Vista, and even more concerning, several users report that the system's power button has a tendency to break. No power, no PC; not a good deal.

Acer's Aspire AX3200-U1790A looks like a solid system at first glance, and it did earn some praise in a couple of Acer Aspire AX3200-U1790A reviews at Tiger Direct.com for its excellent power. However, several other posters at the site note that the system's power button breaks easily, which of course is a serious problem.

The Acer Aspire AX3200-U1790 Auses an AMD CPU (the Athlon X2 4850e) and includes 4GB of RAM and a 640GB hard drive. Unlike most budget PCs, this one also features a TV tuner, an HDMI port, and a multi-in-one media card reader, which are nice extras. However, the Acer Aspire AX3200-U1790A is still using Windows Vista Home Premium rather than Windows 7.

It's really too bad this system appears to have a flawed power button, because on paper it seems like a killer budget PC. You get a lot of nice extras for less than $500, which makes the package very attractive. Unfortunately, all those extras won't do you much good if you can't turn on the PC.

Dell Inspiron 580s

The Dell Inspiron 580s is a little light on some features but is still a pretty good value overall. The star of this system is the Intel i3-530 CPU but the 320GB hard drive is small compared to most budget PCs. Its six USB ports and 4GB of RAM are pretty standard for desktops in this price range.
