Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S2100 Review
The DSC-S2100 may very well be the easiest camera to use in this lineup, and it shoots pretty good photos as well. You can't ask much more from a budget camera.
Sony seems to make great products in all price ranges, and the Cyber-shot DSC-S2100 is yet another good offering from the electronics giant. DigitalCameraReview loves how simple this camera is to use and says in a Sony Cyber-shot camera review that it shoots excellent pictures in good light. According to Sony Cyber-shot camera reviews posted at Target, users are generally happy with the photos from this camera, though one user finds the autofocus too slow.
The Cyber-shot DSC-S2100 is a 12.1-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, about average for cameras in this price range. Like other Sony products, this camera uses Sony's proprietary Memory Stick memory cards but can also use SD/SDHC cards. The S2100 has an image stabilization feature that relies on digital trickery rather than the preferable built-in optical image stabilization. The S2100 has a generous three-inch LCD and a broad range of ISO settings, from 100 to 3200.
This camera has two great strengths: It takes good photos and it's easy to use. At the end of the day, those are the two things budget-point-and-shoot-camera users care about most. One drawback to this camera: Sony's not producing it anymore; but you can still find it at several online stores.
