Panasonic SC-BT200 Review
The Panasonic SC-BT200 is loaded with solid features, including seven satellite speakers rather than the usual five, an integrated Blu-ray player with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio support, an integrated iPod dock, auto-calibration for speaker setup, even an SD card slot. On top of all that, the SC-BT200 plays impressive video and audio. It's not the cheapest HTiB, but you get lots for your money.
Panasonic's SC-BT200 is chock full of features, and for the most part reviewers and users liked the system. Bigpicturebigsound.com really liked the cheap HTiB's integrated iPod dock, calling it "adorable", and the system's audio during movies was also impressive. However, the review notes that the remote doesn't have an Eject button, a minor irritation, and the Blu-ray player's video, though good overall, did show a little noise during testing. Amazon users were, for the most part, impressed with the system's audio and video, though some users say the system is slow to start up, and slow to respond to commands from the remote control.
The Panasonic SC-BT200 has seven satellite speakers rather than the usual five, along with a subwoofer. It has an integrated Blu-ray player with an Ethernet port, and supports a long list of audio formats, such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master Audio. This unit includes a device to automatically calibrate the speakers during setup. It also has an iPod dock and an SD card slot. Unfortunately, the SC-BT200 doesn't include additional video inputs, but that's not uncommon in cheap HTiBs that have an integrated Blu-ray player.
If you want to step up from 5.1 sound to 7.1 sound, this HTiB is for you. We like that it has an integrated iPod dock and autocalibration for the speakers. It's a well-rounded system that looks and sounds great.
