Brother MFC-J430W Review
Brother MFC-J430W 5 Star Rating: Cheapism Best Pick
Summary:

Expert Brother MFC-J430w reviews (starting at $60, Amazon) think highly of this home office/small office all-in-one printer. A review on Computer Shopper says its photo print speed is a little slow with this inkjet printer, as is scanning, but copies (documents or photos) look sharp and, where relevant, have a solid color output. PC World appreciates the judicious use of ink from the higher-capacity cartridges, according to its Brother MFC-J430w review, and says output speed is impressive for a multifunction printer at this price point. Home users are upbeat about this budget all-in-one printer according to Brother MFC-J430w reviews on sites such as Office Depot and Brother. Consumers write that its print quality is high, the ink cost is manageable, the feature set is rich, and the price is right. Particular pluses they point to include the fax function (uncommon for budget printers) and the ability to print from a cell phone or laptop and scanning into email. A few Brother MFC-J430w reviews note that the USB port is awkwardly positioned and requires a longer-than-usual cable.

The Brother MFC-J430w is a flatbed multifunction printer with a 100-sheet input tray and 20-page automatic document feeder, a rare feature for all-in-ones at the low-cost end of the market. The printer has a maximum resolution of 6000x1200 dpi while the scanner's optical resolution is 2400x1200 dpi. The MFC-J430w uses four ink cartridges and supports a wide range of paper sizes, from 3.5x5-inch to 8x10-inch sheets, as well as envelopes and letter- and legal-size paper. There's a 1.9-inch color LCD and you can connect to your network wirelessly through 802.11b/g/n connections, or rely on the USB 2.0 port for a wired connection to your PC. The printer weighs 19.8 pounds and measures 15.9Wx14.9Dx7.1H inches. It carries an Energy Star label and comes with a one-year warranty.

The MFC-J430w may not be ideal for people who want to print lots of photos in a hurry, but text- and graphics-happy consumers will be pleased. The automatic document feeder and built-in fax are nice additions for a home or small office printer, and you won't find many other multifunction inkjets in this price segment with those features. All in all, the Brother MFC-J430w is a very good value.
