Canon Pixma MX410 Review
Canon Pixma MX410

Canon Pixma MX410 reviews written by experts point out a few strong points and also a couple of weaknesses. Both CNET and PC World note approvingly in their Canon Pixma MX410 reviews that this budget inkjet printer includes an auto document feeder, which is not typically found on cheap home all-in-ones. The Canon Pixma MX410 reviews also describe text printouts as dark, but whereas PC World says the characters look sharp, CNET sees evidence of jagged edges. Experts contend that photo and color graphics output could be better; color graphics look grainy, they write, and photos show "dreary" skin tones and a slight orange tint. Consumers, meanwhile, generally like this model. What makes them happy, according to Canon Pixma MX410 reviews at Amazon, are ease of set up and operation -- and that includes connecting to a wireless network. Users also appreciate the built-in fax, another feature missing on most low-cost all-in-one printers marketed for the home.

This inkjet multifunction printer/copier/scanner/fax machine has a simple 1.8-inch dot matrix display and a 100-sheet paper tray. There are only two ink cartridges - one for black and one for color - compared to most printers, whose separate ink cartridges for each of the necessary colors can help save on the cost of ink. Its maximum color print resolution is 4800x1200 dpi and the flatbed scanner's optical resolution maxes out at 1200x2400 dpi. The Pixma MX410 supports 802.11b/g/n wireless connections and also has a USB 2.0 port; the fax connects at 33.6Kbps. It weighs a hefty 19 pounds and measures 18.1Wx16.4Dx7.8H inches. Like others in its class, the Pixma MX410 is Energy-Star qualified and features a one-year warranty.

The Canon Pixma MX410 may be a decent choice for light printing and fax duties in a home office. The fax machine is a nice extra for some users, as is the automatic document feeder. Print quality, on the other hand, especially for photos, isn't quite on par with other products that earned a spot on our list.
