Asus Eee PC 1015B Review
According to reviewers, the Asus Eee PC 1015B's performance is sluggish, which was a real turn-off. Reviewers also note that the small keyboard seems cramped and doesn't have a good, tactile feel.
The Asus Eee PC 1015B has some specs and features that Asus Eee PC 1015B reviews praise -- such as an HDMI-out port, long battery life, and USB 3.0 port -- even as they critique its performance. An Asus Eee PC 1015B review on Notebookreview says this netbook is slower than most, a performance that earns it a rating of just 1.5 out of 5 total points on the netbook-rating scale. Asus Eee PC 1015B reviews on PC Mag and Laptop Mag also cite its sluggishness and further note the keyboard is too small, making it hard to use.
The Asus Eee PC 1015B comes loaded with an AMD Fusion C-30 CPU rather than the Intel Atom processor many netbooks use, and it includes the standard 1GB of RAM. The card reader can read SD/SDHC/MMC flash cards, which come in handy for storing and opening files like photos, MP3s, and the like. As with almost all netbooks available today, the Eee PC 1015B runs Windows 7 Starter, features a 250GB hard drive and 10.1-inch screen at a resolution of 1024 x 600, and provides support for 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. This netbook also supports Bluetooth connections and includes three USB 2.0 ports plus an even faster USB 3.0 port. The Asus Eee PC 1015B also has a .3MP video camera built into the frame of the display.
Unfortunately for Asus, this netbook's CPU simply isn't as powerful as the Intel Atom processor most netbooks use, and that drop in performance is costly. Netbooks aren't terribly sophisticated or power-hungry machines, so you expect your netbook to be fairly zippy when running basic tasks. Despite its extra features, this netbook just doesn't offer the performance users have come to expect from a netbook.
