Gateway LT2001U Review
A slick style and good looks on paper, it's so new that almost no one has had a chance to review it; we're reserving judgment until we can get a bead on its performance; its multi-gesture touchpad looks interesting.
can still buy the LT2001U, however, at Newegg.com, Amazon.com, and a few other places. But due to the lightning speed at which this netbook has come and gone, almost no one has had a chance to get their hands on one. In a review of cheap netbooks on Tigerdirect.com, one customer writes that his wife really likes the Gateway LT2001U and thinks it a good value considering its low cost.
Specs on the LT2001U are similar specs to other netbooks in this price range: Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a three-cell battery, and Windows XP Home. The feature that really sets this model apart from other netbooks is its multi-gesture touchpad, which lets you use your fingers to resize or manipulate photos and the like by making a "pinching" or similar gesture on the touchpad.
The LT2001U may actually be a pretty decent netbook and its multi-gesture feature certainly holds appeal. But the fact that Gateway no longer promotes this model on its site makes us hesitant to recommend it.
