HP Mini 110 Review
Many users liked several things about the HP Mini 110, including the option of fitting it out with a 32GB solid-state drive, but its touchpad was widely disliked; with so much similarity among netbookds, even small problems make a big difference.
HP's Mini 110 comes in a variety of cool colors and offers an optional 32GB SSD hard drive, but one thing really holds this model back from earning a good recommendation the touchpad buttons. We came across more than one expert review of budget netbooks (such as this one at Laptopmag.com) that criticize the touchpad and mouse buttons on this otherwise decent netbook; a review of inexpensive netbooks on PC World describes the Mini 110's mouse button layout as "crummy." Overall, though, users report this bargain netbook performs well.
The HP Mini 110 has some good specs going for it, including a 5-in-1 card reader, integrated web cam, the aforementioned 32GB SSD option, and your choice of a three-cell or six-cell battery. Naturally, the Mini 110 comes with either an Atom N270 1.6GHz or N280 1.66GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM.
If this netbook had better touchpad buttons, we would give it a thumbs-up. But with netbooks being so similar, any shortcoming in any given model can be a deciding factor when it's time to make your buy. The HP Mini 110 may look good and run well, but invest in a mouse if you decide to spring for this model.
