Since their release several years ago, most netbooks have developed very similar hardware specifications, so one or two minor differences can make a cheap netbook an even better bargain. Most cheap netbooks use an Intel Atom N455 CPU, but netbooks with an Intel Atom N570 or an AMD Fusion C-50 CPU have a little more pop. And while 1GB of RAM is standard, an extra gigabyte, such as that offered by the Acer model at the head of our list, will give your netbook a performance boost. Almost all netbooks have a 250GB hard drive and a 10-inch screen, which should be more than enough for a typical netbook user, though larger screens are available in some cheap netbooks (including the Acer). A six-cell battery is standard equipment and should last about seven hours; anything less will obviously cut your run time and have you looking for an outlet sooner than you'd like.
