LG WM2101HW Review
LG WM2101HW 5 Star Rating: Cheapism Best Pick
Summary:
An Energy Star-qualified front-loading washing machine with capacity of 4.0 cubic feet, five temperature levels, and a 12-hour delay- wash feature, the LG WM2101HW wins high praise from users for its thorough cleaning, efficiency, and quiet operation; some gripe that the door won't sit ajar to let the drum dry out. This model replaces the discontinued LG WM2050CW and receives the same impressive ratings from consumer review sites. A good value at its normal retail price of $700, but a steal when purchased on sale.

True, with a price starting at just above $600, the LG WM2101HW is technically over the Cheapism limit in the front-loading washer category. But LG WM2101HW reviews are strongly positive and we've spotted this model for as little as $530 on sale. Indeed, if expert and user LG WM2101HW reviews are to be believed, it's worth keeping an eye out for the occasional discounted price. Consumer product review sites praise the LG WM2101HW for water and energy savings, overall performance, and capacity. Users' LG WM2101HW reviews are equally affirming. Best Buy shoppers, for example, award it an average 4.5 out of 5 stars, and Sears shoppers are only a tad less enthusiastic.

In general, users appreciate the machine's cleaning performance and the extra sanitizing and delay-wash features. LG WM2101HW reviews posted on Abt also remark on its relatively quiet operation, although one LG WM2101HW review on Best Buy complains the unit makes quite a racket and is prone to walking when not adjusted correctly (hint: try leveling the unit while the spin cycle is going).

Like other front-loaders, the LG WM2101HW gets dinged for the extra upkeep needed to ward off mold and mildew. One common recommendation with front-loaders is to keep the door ajar between washes, but some users are understandably irked that the door of this model is not designed to sit open part way -- it's all or nothing. A few enterprising consumers have figured out a way around this issue, though, and users' objections to the LG WM2101HW are notably minor.

With a capacity of 4.0 cubic feet, the LG WM2101HW boasts the performance and some of the features found in front-loaders costing $300 to $400 more, and it consistently ranks near the top of expert buy lists. Although the LG WM2101HW may be too pricey for consumers on a tight budget, it's a great value when purchased on sale.
