Freschetta Signature Pepperoni Review
BEST FROZEN PEPPERONI PIZZA. This Freschetta pizza won over our panel in the pepperoni category and earned the highest score overall. Tasters called it "well-balanced," with lots of sauce that managed to taste both sweet and spicy. Although reviewers were divided over the "doughy" texture of the crust, all but one panelist said they would eat this pizza again.
This flavorful pie with "a little spice" was not only the winner in our pepperoni pizza category but received the highest score of all of the pizzas we tested, period. It averaged 3.7 out of 5 and earned two nods for favorite pepperoni pizza. All but one of our nine testers said, unequivocally, that they would eat it again. Panelists noted in their Freschetta Signature Pepperoni reviews that the pizza features "good-looking pepperoni" and "lots of cheese." They also liked the sauce.
Our hungry helpers were hard-pressed to come up with any criticisms of this pie. That said, as we saw with nearly all the frozen pizzas in our blind taste test, there was more disagreement about the crust than about any other aspect of the product. One Freschetta Signature Pepperoni review compared the crust to "cardboard," while a few others described it as "squishy" and "doughy." On the other hand, some opined that it had a "nice texture."
At $5.99, Freschetta Signature Pepperoni ($5.99 for 27.35 ounces, or 22 cents an ounce) was a little more expensive than others we sampled but worked out to a reasonable 22 cents per ounce. We found no specific Freschetta Signature Pepperoni reviews online. However, two dozen consumers give Freschetta frozen pizzas in general an average rating of more than 80 out of a possible 100 on Viewpoints. Most of the comments are positive, although reviewers also register a common complaint: that toppings are inconsistent and seem to be thrown on haphazardly.
Our tasting panel noticed no such inconsistency with the pepperoni and focused more on the "well-balanced" flavors than the appearance of this pie.
