Acer Aspire One D250 Review
See all Netbooks review
Acer's Aspire One D250 garnered a "Very Good" rating from a CNET cheap netbooks review due to its budget-friendly price, easy-to-click touch pad buttons, and a slimmer design than its predecessor Aspire One D150. The standard three-cell battery is ideal for mobile users who want to travel light (official weight is 2.4 pounds), yet still have a netbook that's powerful enough to get the job done. Just beware that the small battery means you'll have less running time between power-ups.
The Aspire One D250 includes Intel's ubiquitous Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU, although the netbook is also available with Intel's slightly faster (and pricier) N280 1.66GHz CPU. The base model sports a modest 1GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 160GB, 5400rpm hard drive (a 250GB hard drive is also available). The D250 supports 802.11b/g Wi-fi and runs on Windows XP. One highlight of this netbook is its multi-in-one card reader.
What sets this netbook apart from the rest? Quite simply, a wildly enthusiastic user base. Customers who bought this netbook rave about its light weight and portability, bright, vivid display, and speed.
