MSI Wind U100-641

Although this netbook performs well overall, it does have a couple of peculiarities that get under some user reviewers' skins. The Wind 641's keyboard punctuation keys are very small and a bit awkward to use, according to a budget netbooks review on Legitreviews.com. One consumer review of cheap netbooks on Newegg.com notes that the "." and "/" keys are especially small and hard to use. Other reviews of inexpensive netbooks also say the track pad is not always easy to click. These minor annoyances aside, the MSI Wind 641 is a decent low-cost netbook.

On paper, the MSI Wind U100-641 netbook looks very much like any other netbook. It has Intel's Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU, a three-cell battery, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and runs on Windows XP. It also has a 4-in-1 card reader and an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam, and supports 802.11b/g wireless connections.

Despite the Wind U100-641's somewhat awkward keyboard, most users like this netbook and many report they got used to the keyboard layout after a while. The Wind U100-641 is lighter than average (weighing in at a mere 2.3 pounds), which appeals to travelers, though its performance is just about average.
