Check their websites for hundreds of events going on all summer & fall, 90% of which are free. Outdoor music, boat rides, orchestra concerts, or stop by one of six "Buffalo Place Rocks the Harbor" concerts ($10). They even have yoga classes down by the water.

Take a leisurely sail on a 73 foot schooner, work the sails and explore Buffalo's waterways. Although it's not the cheapest activity in Buffalo, the Spirit of Buffalo gets rave reviews and is a truly unique experience. $28 a person ($18 for 12 and under) gets you a 2 hour cruise. Make sure you call for a reservation.
Thursday At The Square

For over 20 years Lafayette square has hosted outdoor concerts on warm summer nights. They start at 5:30pm and because of generous sponsors, the concerts are free. They book musicians from all over the world and the concerts run from May to August.

Located just south of downtown, enjoy this garden full of plants from North America as well as many other exotic places. The tropical and sub-tropical plants are housed in three glass domes and nine greenhouses. For $6 ($3 for a tour) you can explore this 11+ acre park. Stop by the desert house in the winter to get out of the cold and look at cacti.
