When we checked, the site had numerous air conditioners ranging from $148 and up, and you can search for deals that include free shipping. The site earns a solid four out of five stars from about 240 consumers weighing in on Yahoo Shopping. Reviewers rave about easy transactions and exceptional customer service. P.C. Richard & Son also offers plenty of well-priced air conditioners -- including one of our good picks, the Frigidaire FRA086AT7, priced at $230. Just be aware when ordering that all major appliances incur a $49 shipping fee per item. Abt offers air conditioner deals starting as low as $118 and charges $49 to $78 for shipping on most units.
Shipping costs should play a role in where you choose to purchase an air conditioner. Room air conditioners aren't lightweight and aren't likely to be cheap to ship unless you can find a good shipping rate. Take, for example, the above-mentioned $230 Frigidaire FRA086AT7 air conditioner at P.C. Richard & Son. Compact Appliance has the same model priced at $259 but with free shipping, making it less expensive in the end than at P.C. Richard & Son, with its $49 shipping.
