LG LW1012ER Review
With a 10,000 BTU cooling capacity, the LG LW1012ER (starting at $250, Amazon) should be able to handle an area up to about 450 square feet. That's why a user posting a review at Home Depot was amazed to find that last year's version, the LW1011ER, quietly and effectively cooled 900 square feet. Another user says the LG LW1011ER made a hot kitchen feel like a freezer and cooled the living room as well.
The newer LG LW1012ER has gotten similarly positive consumer feedback so far. Many LG LW1012ER reviews mention fast, easy installation, and consumers posting at Home Depot seem impressed by how quiet it is. The air conditioner earns an Energy Star label with an energy efficiency ratio of 10.8. It features an energy saver function, automatic restart after a power outage, a remote control, and a 24-hour timer, compared with the 12-hour timer on last year's model. A couple of users posting LG LW1011ER reviews at Home Depot say the five-year warranty sold them on that unit. Unfortunately the LW1012ER comes with only one year on parts and labor and one year on the compressor.
The bottom line: While the LG LW1012ER lacks its predecessor's impressive warranty, its performance seems to measure up.
