Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus 2011 Review
This program earns mixed reviews from experts, who assign low to mediocre ratings based on performance in test labs. Users like its speed and ease of use, but some grouse about limited control options.
Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus 2011 disappoints the experts. The program fared poorly in a series of tests performed by PC Magazine, which assigns the software only two points out of five in its Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus 2011 review. Simply put, the review says Titanium Antivirus 2011 doesn't detect or clean up older viruses or malware already installed on a PC. CNET's Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus 2011 review is more affirming. These experts like the program's simple interface and the fact that it barely uses system resources, although the review notes that Titanium Antivirus 2011 uses new and mostly untested technology, which is cause for concern until testing labs have a chance to thoroughly vet the software. Users of this latest version complain about slow installation, resource hogging, and generally subpar performance in their reviews on the CNET site. A Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus 2011 review by Antivirusware.com gives the program a "fair" rating, saying its effectiveness against malware threats is dubious.
Titanium Antivirus 2011 doesn't have a lot in the way of extras. In addition to its antivirus and antispyware protection, the program includes features intended to stop malicious downloads from Web sites and block dangerous links in emails and instant messages.
We're not ready to spend $40 on a security program that may not be all that secure. The program does provide a user-friendly interface and automatic updates should relieve some anxiety, but our trust level isn't high enough to bring it on home.
