Canon Pixma MG5320 Review
Canon Pixma MG5320 4 Star Rating: Cheapism Good Pick
Summary:
Canon's Pixma MG5320 is particularly adept at photo printing, but for the speed of the printouts; text output emerges far faster. Reviews say graphics may not look so vibrant.

Experts found many things to like and few things to dislike when appraising the Canon Pixma MG5320. For one, notes the Canon Pixma MG5320 review by CNET, review there are two paper input trays supporting 150 sheets each, more than double what most printers in this price range provide. Additionally, the software offers lots of creative photo print options, including merging still images from a video to reflect your own vision. Text looks solid, even with a small font, the Canon Pixma MG5320 review continues, and photo prints display vivid color. Text prints out fairly quickly, although photo and color graphics output take their sweet time - a minor performance weakness that Canon Pixma MG5320 reviews say might go unnoticed by the average consumer. This inkjet all-in-one garners praise in a Canon Pixma MG5320 review on Macworld for the crisp text printout but earns a gentle poke for photo prints that look more realistic on pricier Canon photo paper than on regular paper. An expert Canon Pixma MG5320 review by Computer Shopper grumbles about the lack of high-yield replacement ink cartridges, which keeps the per page cost high relative to models by other manufacturers that offer this option.

The Canon Pixma MG5320 is a printer/copier/scanner that boasts some features not readily available on competing budget printers. It has the ability to print images on CDs and includes a media card reader that supports several card formats. The printer's maximum color print resolution is 9600x2400 dpi and the flatbed scanner supports an optical resolution of 2400x4800 dpi. As with most printers in this price range, you can connect the Pixma MG5320 to your wireless network via an 802.11b/g/n connection; there's also a USB 2.0 alternative for a wired setup. The Pixma MG5320 supports many popular paper formats, such as 4x6 inch to 8x10 inch prints, letter and legal-size paper, and envelopes, as well as two-sided copying. The Pixma MG 5320 has a large 3-inch LCD, a 17.8Wx14.5Dx6.6H-inch footprint, and an 18.3-pound mass. It comes bundled with a power cord, is Energy-Star compliant, and backed by a one-year warranty.

The Pixma MG5320 performs well across the board. Its photo prints look rich and colorful and text is sharp and clear. The extra features of this printer, such as a media card reader, creative photo software, and the ability to print to CDs, are nice but not essential for most budget users. The main concern with the MG5320 is its ink cost. Look past that and you'll see a serviceable all-in-one at a reasonable price.
