Reddit user Askshmo3750 mentioned that he really likes corn on the cob and that it’s very filling, too. The problem, though, is that it’s heavily seasoned. There are ingredients all over the tray it was cooked in, so just imagine what it’s like when you take that first bite.
The Dog Doesn’t Agree
The dog’s face says it all, as if he knew the human was trying to make a cookie that looked just like him, and eerily enough, succeeded. Or perhaps he’s simply waiting for the person to give him a piece of their food, just like every dog in the world does when wearing that look.
Sandwich Cake
This is a Swedish sandwich cake called Smörgåstårta, according to Reddit user ChemicalDinner1400. She revealed that for his friend’s birthday, she decided to make this cake because he doesn’t like sweets, so she played a joke on him. The fillings includes smoked salmon, arugula, cucumber, avocado spread, and shrimp, she revealed.
Banana Chocolate Fanta
Reddit user thatirishdave mentioned that this chocolate-flavored Fanta is one of the versions the company sells in China. In fact, he tried it and said: “I’m not gonna lie, it’s actually pretty good, but it doesn’t make sense. It does taste like banana and chocolate, like someone melted ice cream and then carbonated it.” This is one of those food fails that certainly sounds unusual.
Frog Cupcakes
They surely taste delicious, but why would you make cupcakes featuring a frog’s face? Reddit user Luvwizrd mentioned making them for her brother’s second birthday, but one of these food fails could leave a child with a shocking memory. Once the children taste the lemon or vanilla flavor, they might just forget about that strange frog face.

This image might seem very strange in much of the world, but not in Brazil. It shows a pizza that is half shrimp, while the other half is topped with flan, along with what appears to be cream and some sweet brown liquid. You get both the meal and dessert on the same plate. The idea is good, but the execution is questionable.
Hedgehog Cake
This cake looks like a hedgehog, and all we can say for sure is that it contains chocolate and is packed with sweets. While we can infer that it is intended for children, we do not believe its appearance would strike the little ones as funny or fun. Perhaps even the opposite, and one of these food fails could give them nightmares.
Pineapple Cheese Ice Cream Sandwich
Reddit user emotionallybakd posted this picture of a pineapple cheese ice cream sandwich and some comments mentioned that on hot days, this would be a very good dish to combat the heat. Meanwhile, user Amazing-File replied: “As an Indonesian, that’s not weird for me, but I never see this with ice cream.” This is one of those unusual food fails.

Egg Hot Dog
Reddit user HammockComplex mentioned that during a visit to the Japan pavilion at EPCOT, she was sold a hot dog with an egg inside for US$ 9. That dish is some sort of Japanese-style egg sandwich. Judging by the photo she posted, one of these food fails could easily pass for a simple breakfast made at home anywhere in the world using just an egg from the fridge and a hot dog bun. It doesn’t even require any special preparation.
Good Tomato
It looks as though this tomato is gazing at the person about to eat it and smiling, trying to evoke empathy so they won’t go through with it. The tomato’s shape bears an uncanny resemblance to a human face, making one of these food fails so creepy. Even if someone had deliberately tried to make a tomato look like a human head, they couldn’t have achieved this result.
Chicken Oreo
In the Asian market, you can find foods that no culinary company in the West would even consider creating. Oreo teamed up with KFC in China to launch chocolate-flavored cookies with a chicken filling. This isn’t the first time Oreo has caused a stir in the Asian market with such releases; they have previously done so with spicy chili and wasabi flavors.
The Onion Game
We’ve seen these claw machines filled with all sort of things, from stuffed animals and candy to even small appliances, inside those glass cases with the famous claw that barely holds onto anything when you lift it. We have never seen a machine like this with prizes like onions. Perhaps it’s an onion museum or the work of an onion fanatic, making this one of the especially strange food fails.

Reddit user xaeru posted this image that shows a chicken shop that bought a Ferris wheel to load up with dozens of chickens and roast them over the coals, and it happened in Oman. Some comments pointed out that, since the wheel takes a long time to pass through the fire, it will take several hours for the chicken to finally be cooked.
Fell Apart Egg
You’ve lost count of how many times you’ve taken out a frying pan and tried to crack an egg perfectly, just like TV chefs do, ending up with the yolk centered and a flawless, near-circular shape. Yet, more often than not, the result looks like the one in the picture, leaving you complaining that you didn’t quite get the shape right. This is one of those food fails that so many people can relate to.

Italians might be offended to see one of their iconic dishes, the cannoli, ruined by having a sausage stuck in the middle. Reddit user wynd666 also noted that the cheese grated on top is Parmesan. While sweet-and-savory dishes are currently trending, we don’t think this one will follow suit.
There is no Way to Fix It
Sometimes, when you make a mistake while cooking, you can try to fix it, like when you add too much seasoning to a dish and can tone it down with other ingredients that neutralize the flavor. But when chili or Bolognese sauce spills out of the pot because of the car’s movement, there is no way to save it. This is one of the food fails that means you’d better go ahead and call for delivery food.

Reddit user MrAfromanxx revealed this deconstructed burger from a local restaurant. A comment pointed out that while it is a trend to have deconstructed food, it serves no real purpose. User neilkd21 noted that burgers are one of the most popular foods worldwide because they are functional, so people should stop messing with them. We would love to see the supermarket’s surveillance footage to witness the chain reaction as the bottle fell. This is one of the food fails that is a messy one.

This famous fast-food chain introduced a sandwich that used fried chicken instead of the usual bread, with a serving of noodles sandwiched between the two pieces of fried chicken.
