We all know about Costco, and you’ve probably heard of Sam’s Club. But there’s another warehouse club store that you may not have heard of: BJ’s Wholesale.
Just like its competitors, BJ’s seems to be doing good business right now, despite tariffs, rising prices, and any downswing in the economy. It opened new locations in 2025, and has already announced that nine new stores will be opening next year. Here’s what we know, including which cities are going to be getting a new BJ’s.
What Is BJ’s Wholesale Club?
BJ’s is a warehouse membership club very similar to Costco and Sam’s Club, but with less of a die-hard fan base. Members pay an annual fee to shop there, and the store sells mostly bulk products at a discounted price. It’s the same business model as its competitors.
Currently, BJ’s has just over 250 locations in 21 states. The majority are located east of the Mississippi, and most have gas stations. You’ll find groceries, housewares, paper goods, and cleaning supplies, along with tech like TVs and computers on sale in each store.

In a financial report at the end of November, the company reported strong sales compared to the same time period last year. Membership fee income went up 9.8%, and total revenue went up 4.3%. Clearly, things are going well for the company, and expansion makes sense.
