If Aldi hasn’t landed in your neighborhood yet, it might be on the way. According to the popular discount grocery chain, 35 new Aldi stores are opening across nine states in 2025, and your state might be on the list.
Here is the scoop.
What Is Aldi Planning for 2025?

Aldi confirmed it will open 35 new locations across nine states in 2025, as part of a larger goal of adding more than 225 stores nationwide. This is the largest single-year expansion in the company’s nearly fifty years in the U.S. The discount grocer already operates more than 2,400 stores nationwide, making it the third-largest chain in the country by location count.
How Did Aldi Gain the Resources to Expand at This Scale?

The company’s rapid growth follows its acquisition of Southeastern Grocers, the parent of Winn-Dixie and Harveys. Aldi will convert roughly 220 of those stores by 2027, while selling about 170 to other operators. Nearly 100 converted locations are expected to reopen as Aldi stores by the end of this year.
