Going home for the holidays is something that some people hope for, but can’t always afford. Traveling is expensive, so many young people and college students don’t make the trip home for Christmas.
This year, Amazon is trying to do something about that by offering $25 flights to certain Prime members.

Who’s Eligible for $25 Flights?
Amazon Prime members who are enrolled in the young adult membership are eligible to purchase $25 discounted flights. You must be between the ages of 18 and 24 in order to purchase that membership, so that is the only age group who is eligible for the flight deal.
How Do I Sign Up for Young Adult Prime Membership?
Prime membership for young adults is only for 18-24 year olds, and you must prove your age by uploading a picture of your ID or passport to sign up. If you qualify, you’ll get the usual Prime membership benefits like free shipping and streaming services at half the price of a regular membership.
If you’re not so sure about paying for Prime membership but still want $25 flights, you can sign up for a free 6-month trial of Prime for young adults.
How Do I Claim My $25 Flight?
If you’re a Prime for young adults member, you’ll need to activate the StudentUniverse feature on your membership. StudentUniverse is a discount travel club for young adults that Amazon is partnering with in order to offer these cheap flights.
Then, starting at 10 a.m. PST on Dec. 9, head to the Amazon 25 Flights deal page to book your flight. You’ll need to be punctual because it will probably be a bit of a free-for-all. Plus, you’ll have to travel between Dec. 9 and Jan. 14, 2025.
How Many Tickets Are Available?
There are only a total of 5,000 $25 roundtrip tickets available. On top of that, only 1,000 are available each day. They’ll drop at the same time every day, from Dec. 9 through Dec. 13.
What Other Catches Are There?
Of course there are even more catches, right? The tickets are only for domestic flights in the 50 United States and Washington, D.C. They’ll only get you basic economy fares, but for $25, we’re not complaining about that one. You can only purchase one ticket per Prime membership, along with one extra guest ticket at the discounted rate.
The $25 also doesn’t include things like baggage fees and trip insurance, so extras may add up. Plus — and this is the big one — if you book for $25 and then cancel your flight, you’ll be charged a $75 cancellation fee along with any applicable airline fees.
