We all stop in the Costco paper goods aisle and stock up on chicken for the freezer, but one aisle gets overlooked too often: cheese.

There are some delicious dairy and great deals to be found in the cheese section of your Costco. From creamy brie to funky pecorino, members have strong opinions on their favorites. We looked to Reddit for recommendations from fellow Costco fans — and cheese lovers — on which cheeses to pick up for our next charcuterie board or pizza night. Here are some of the most popular cheeses in threads from both r/Cheese and r/Costco, along with what members had to say about them.

“The Coastal Cheddar is 🔥🔥🔥”

“Wow this is amazing. It tastes exactly like Swiss Appenzeller, one of my favorites!”

“I love that Kirkland Coastal cheddar. It’s crumbly and you can crunch the salty bits in it!!!! That cheese, a Triscuit, a piece of dry salami and a thin slice of apple is DIVINE!”

“It is aged in a cave and has crystals just like real parmigiano reggiano. It has a nice sharp flavor yet melts wonderfully.”

“Incredible stuff but I have to keep it out of the house because I will house the whole jar in two days no problem. And a huge value compared to everywhere else you can find it.”

“My all time favorite cheese!”

“Have 2 huge tubs of this at work as we use it for our bread service stuffs amazing, the goats and sheep live off onions and garlic.”

This is one of my favorite things at Costco now.

“So delicious, great deal, lasts very long.”

“Lasts crazy long, almost entirely too long. Forgot about one in the downstairs fridge and got to it maybe 8 months later, zero problems. Taste just as good as the other (cause of course I bought two) did fresh out the pack.”

Kirkland Signature Organic Feta

A plastic container of Kirkland Signature Organic Feta cheese with white feta slices on a wooden board. The label shows it's a product of Greece, USDA organic, and made with 100% organic sheep’s milk.
Lacey Muszynski / Cheapism

“Their feta, hands down. It tastes exactly like the kind you would get in Greece.”

“We buy the most of Feta. My kid drowns her salads in it. The Organic is even better, but breaking it up & the extra cost makes lazy me just buy the other one.”

“The Greek organic feta cheese. No other store has anything like it in quantity or quality.”

Kirkland Signature Parmigiano Reggiano

“Parm is a steal. Half the price of my supermarket.”

“It’s real DOP parmigiano reggiano, it may not be Italy’s very best but it’s a hell of a deal for real parm. They don’t allow imitators.”

“I also adore my giant slabs of good Italian Parm.”

Kirkland Signature Manchego

A wedge of Kirkland Signature Manchego cheese in plastic wrap stands next to a whole wheel of Manchego cheese inside an open red cardboard box on a store shelf.
Lacey Muszynski / Cheapism

“That Manchego is definitely a top pick.”

“The manchego is the best at Costco.”

“Did you wait for the manchego to get to room temp and greasy? Nothing beats that.”

Kirkland Signature Double Cream Brie

Lacey Muszynski / Cheapism

“Kirkland Brie is the best !!! Either to serve as is or to bake it.”

“It is mild and creamy with just enough tang to make it wonderful. I cut a wedge, slice it and put it on Crunch Master crackers. I have some in the fridge now.”

“The Brie is great, but it’s hard to get through a wheel and it’s the same price per ounce at half the size at Aldi’s.”

BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella Snacking Cheese

Kirkland Signature Goat Cheese

Costco goat cheese! It’s such a great deal. The price you pay at Costco for two huge logs of it normally gets you 1 small portion and a grocery store.”

“I love taking a log, whipping it with some honey, then serving on toasted baguette slices topped with berries. It’s so easy and always a huge hit at summer parties.”

Kerrygold Dubliner

Blocks of Kerrygold Dubliner natural cheese in bright yellow packaging are stacked in a cardboard display. Labels highlight "No Added Hormones" and "Non-GMO Project Verified." "Product of Ireland" is visible.

Dubliner ALL day!

“I love this cheese so much and it makes me incredibly happy to get such a large brick for cheap!”

“Dubliner is the best. It’s cheddar when you want it to be a cheddar, and parm went you want it to be a parm.”

Boursin

Boxes of Boursin cheese, including Garlic & Fine Herbs and Shallot & Chive flavors, are stacked in a display box. Packaging features "Emily in Paris" branding and a note about recipe ideas on the back.
Lacey Muszynski / Cheapism

“Boursin! Maybe not technically cheese, more of a spread. But with Milton’s multigrain crackers, cut fruit, lunch is ready in a minute.”

“Is it lame that I love the Boursin crumbles? I feel like they are perfect for adding to salads, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, they can elevate a lot of things.”
