Though many retailers have closed their doors for good this year (we’re looking at you, Joann), there are some bucking that trend. Bob’s Discount Furniture just announced that it’s planning to open 20 new locations, including expanding into two new states. Here’s all the details, including where you’ll be able to find them.
What Is Bob’s Discount Furniture?
In case you’re not familiar, Bob’s Discount Furniture is a nationwide retailer of furniture, mattresses, and home decor that focuses on value. It was founded in 1991 in Connecticut and has since expanded beyond the Northeast to almost 200 locations in 26 states.
Why Is Bob’s Discount Furniture Expanding?
Well, it’s no surprise that a retailer with “discount” in its name is growing right now. Bob’s markets itself as a furniture store where there’s no hidden fees on the prices that you see, no pressure from salespeople, and where you can even get free coffee, cookies, and ice cream while you shop. The expansion “allows us to make a local impact on more communities by generating jobs and providing support to local schools and nonprofits, things that have been core to Bob’s,” according to a press release.
New Bob’s Locations Already Opened in 2025
Some of the 20 new Bob’s Discount Furniture locations planned for this year already opened over President’s Day weekend. Those locations are:

- Winchester, VA
- Reno, NV
- Davenport, IA
Bob’s Locations Planned for New States
Bob’s Discount furniture plans to open locations in two new states this year: Vermont and North Carolina. Those locations are:
- Williston, VT
- Durham, NC
- Fayetteville, NC
- Wilmington, NC
- Jacksonville, NC
- Winston-Salem, NC
- Cary, NC
