Chick-fil-A is testing a brand new item, and we’re wondering why the chain hasn’t had the iconic food duo on its menu before now.
Chicken and waffles seems like a slam dunk combo for the chain, and there are two versions of the sandwich that just debuted. But since it’s a test, they’re currently only in two cities, so you have to be pretty lucky to find one. Here’s what we know about Chick-fil-A’s new chicken and waffles sandwiches, where you can get them, and first impressions from Chick-fil-A customers who’ve tried them already.
Chick-fil-A’s New Chicken and Waffle Sandwich Explained
We’re not going to lie: Chick-fil-A’s new chicken and waffles sandwich sounds amazing. If you like fried chicken and you enjoy sweet and savory combinations, you’ll probably dig it.
The sandwich includes maple-flavored waffles instead of a bun, along with an original fried chicken filet, honey butter spread, and, to gild the lily, a couple strips of bacon. It’s served with a cup of maple syrup for dipping. (There are zero pickles in sight, which seems like the correct choice.)

You can get the chicken and waffles sandwich for lunch and dinner, or there’s a breakfast version that includes all the same stuff but is just a little smaller. The sandwich comes in two version: original or spicy chicken filet. We know we’d go spicy, but you do you.
Where You Can Get It
Testing new items is something fast-food chains do all the time because they’re constantly adding new and interesting items to the menu. In most cases, they roll out new items in a couple cities to make sure they’ll sell well before introducing them nationwide. That’s exactly what Chick-fil-A is doing for the chicken and waffles sandwich test.
The two lucky cities this time are Baltimore, Maryland, and San Antonio, Texas. Most Chick-fil-A locations in those areas will have the chicken and waffles sandwich on its menu.
If you’re hoping to try the larger, all-day version and not just the breakfast sandwich, you’ll have to live near Baltimore to get it. That’s the only city that will have the lunch and dinner version; both Baltimore and San Antonio have the breakfast version.
Chick-fil-A’s chicken and waffle sandwiches are available starting today, December 1, through January 24, 2026. That gives you a couple months to sink your teeth into one, though it does come with the disclaimer that it’s only “while supplies last.”
You may have a little sticker shock if you can get it, though. From images and video posted on social media, the breakfast version is selling for $5.19 at one Chick-fil-A location, and the all-day version is priced at a whopping $8.59 for original and $8.89 for spicy chicken.
What People Are Saying
It’s pretty hard to hate chicken and waffles, and most people that have tried it already seem to enjoy it. Like all fast food, though, if you’re not a fan of Chick-fil-A in general, this probably isn’t going to change your mind.
One TikToker who tried it appreciated the fact that you could customize how sweet the sandwich is with the maple syrup. “The waffle isn’t too sweet,” said lifewithleauxla. “It’s not like an overpowering maple, and it’s not like super sugary. I will probably be switching my Chick-fil-A breakfast order to this.”
Another TikToker who tried the breakfast sandwich with the spicy chicken filet enjoyed it, but had one recommendation. “Overall I love this sandwich,” said thejasmiinerose. “Could have toasted the waffles a little bit more, make them a little more crispy on the outside.”
