A sad truth is that we live in a nation where homes are considered unaffordable in 99% of the country. There is no city immune to the shocking increase in home prices, but the last five years have been brutal.

CBS pulled together a report based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics of home and rent prices across the country since 2019. 

Here are 15 cities with some of the biggest and most shocking price percentage increases.

1. Phoenix
