Costco members who penciled in a Monday stock-up run will need to rethink their plans. The warehouse giant is honoring Memorial Day by closing all U.S. locations for the day.

All 600+ Costco warehouses across the U.S. will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of Memorial Day. The company is sticking with its long-standing tradition of giving employees major national holidays off.

Can You Still Shop at Costco Online?

While the physical stores will be shut, Costco.com will still be running. That means you can still order essentials, electronics, and those discounted Memorial Day appliances — just don’t expect two-day shipping on the actual holiday.

Costco is one of the few major retailers that consistently closes on a set list of holidays. These include New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

If you still need to shop on Memorial Day, stores like Walmart, Target, CVS, and most grocery chains will stay open, though hours may vary by location. Sam’s Club, Costco’s main warehouse rival, will also be open, but with shorter hours.
