In the world of luxury food items, caviar is a staple. As such, it’s something that the common folk don’t get very often, if at all.

Now, McDonald’s is taking a stance for the people with its latest gimmick, giving away free McNugget Caviar Kits — seriously. And no, you didn’t hibernate and wake up on April 1. This is really happening.

So, Is McDonald’s Unhinged Or … ?

Most of us are thinking about whether to ask for honey mustard or sweet and sour with our McNuggets, and the thought of caviar as a topping has never crossed our lower- or middle-class minds. However, the chicken nugget and caviar combo was apparently a showstopper dish served at the U.S. Open in August 2025, and became some sort of a viral sensation afterward.

Admittedly, this writer isn’t bougie enough to have ever tried caviar, but this seems totally off the rails from where I’m sitting. I stand with the TikTok user who commented, “I could barely afford the McNuggets.” Nevertheless, apparently the combo is: McNugget, creme fraiche, and caviar. A salty, briny, creamy, crispy bite? Really brings new meaning to “chicken of the sea.”

McDonald’s caviar kit will include creme fraiche, a 1-ounce tin of McNugget Caviar, a $25 McDonald’s gift card (for chicken nuggets, of course), and a Mother of Pearl caviar spoon (which is like the mother of caviar spoons, from what we gather from RichPeopleTok).

McDonald’s is giving away its free McNugget caviar kits exclusively on mcnuggetcaviar.com starting Tuesday, February 10, at 11 a.m. EST.
