Hairbush and beauty product company J&D Brush is in a bit of trouble today, and is only one of many companies in the midst of a recall. Over 250 people have reported issues with one of the company’s curling irons, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission has now issued a recall for 357,000 units. Here’s what to know about the J&D Brush curling iron recall and what to do if you have one.

Which Curling Iron Is Being Recalled?

The recalled product is the Bio Ionic One-Inch-Long Barrel Curling Iron, model LXT-CL-1.0.

Why Is the Product Being Recalled?

Six people so far have received burns after the barrel of the curling iron snapped off and detached, a problem that has been reported to happen 258 other times so far.

How Do I Know If My Curling Iron is Affected?

First, check the date code, which is etched on the prong of the curling iron plug. You’re looking for a date code between 0722 and 1223.

Next, you’re looking for the model number: LXT-CL-1.0. You’ll find it on the rating label on the barrel.

Where Were the Curling Irons Sold?

Alternatively, you can submit an online form for a free replacement. You’ll need to cut off the plug and send it back using a prepaid shipping label.
