From sprawling estates in Beverly Hills to oceanside Malibu mansions, the most expensive celebrity homes aren’t just places to live — they’re architectural marvels that reflect the tastes, lifestyles, and sometimes even the eccentricities of their owners. These luxurious properties, often featuring amenities like state-of-the-art theaters, infinity pools, and private spas, are the epitome of opulence. Here are 15 of the most expensive celebrity homes ever to hit the market.

1. Michael Eisner: $195 Million

Michael Eisner, former CEO of Disney, first listed his Malibu mansion in 2022 for $225 million. Eventually, the price dropped to $195 million, but after a lengthy 18 months on the market, Eisner withdrew the listing.

2. Beyoncé and Jay-Z: $190 Million

“Jay-Z and Beyoncé bought the most expensive mansion ever sold in California” is a profound enough statement on its own, but when you consider that the Malibu manor is just one of their pricey palaces, it’s particularly mind blowing. The power couple also own another California home and a New York residence. The $190 million home they purchased in 2023 showcases a minimalist aesthetic (with a maximized price tag, apparently) and was designed by famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando.

3. Jeff Bezos: Collectively $570 Million

All Over the Freaking Place

You don’t found a company like Amazon just to live in a shoe box. Case in point: Jeff Bezos’ real estate portfolio is reportedly worth around $570 million.

Among his homes, the billionaire owns a $79 million mansion on Indian Creek Island in Florida, a $68 million home on the same island (because if you can’t buy the whole island, you nab $150+ million worth of land on it instead), a boatload of expensive New York apartments (including entire bought-out floors), a $78 million Maui mansion, a spot in D.C., a $165 million Beverly Hills estate along with two other mansions in the area, and two Seattle homes. That’s not including his properties used for business purposes. Let that sink in.

Bill Gates built his Washington home for $63 million; he paid around $14 million for the land it sits on to ensure privacy and security. Dubbed Xanadu 2.0 and designed by Gates, the lodge-style home took seven years to complete construction. It was built with 500 Douglas fir trees and seven different types of stones. Spanning 66,000 square-feet, Xanadu 2.0 has a modest (for a billionaire) seven bedrooms and a not-so-modest 24 bathrooms. The home is now worth a reported $130 million.

5. George Clooney: $107 Million

It feels so right that George Clooney’s home is the pinnacle of class. The 18th-century mansion is situated on Lake Como in Laglio, Italy. Villa Oleandra underwent major restoration when Clooney purchased it, and the home reportedly has amenities that include tennis courts, a gym, a movie theater, and an outdoor pool. There were reports in 2023 that the actor was selling his home for $107 million, but he shut the rumors down in a hurry.

6. Hugh Hefner: $100 Million

The Playboy Mansion needs no introduction because it’s undoubtedly one of the most iconic mansions in existence. While Hefner paid $1 million for the place in 1971, the price tag has since grown 100 times its original number. Not too shabby.

7. Oprah Winfrey: $100 Million

Oprah purchased her 42-acre estate in 2001 and subsequently built “the Promised Land.” Worth $100 million today, the estate has grown to include an additional 30 acres, featuring a 23,000 square-foot mansion at the center of it all. Oprah’s abode includes highlights like a library, wine cellar, and two home theaters.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away … alright, it was 1978 in California, but how else would we introduce the creator of Star Wars’ mansion? George Lucas built the extremely appropriately named Skywalker Ranch, which includes a main house, a 153,000 square-foot building that houses Skywalker Sound, and a man-made lake named — wait for it — Lake Ewok.

9. Tina Turner: $76 Million

When Tina Turner first moved to Switzerland in 1998, she had to rent Villa Algonquin, since it wasn’t seamless to buy a home abroad as a foreigner. When she obtained her Swiss citizenship in 2013, she bought the mansion for $76 million. The home covers nearly 60,000 square-feet and four stories, along with a two-story boathouse and lavish gardens.

10. Cher: $75 Million

In 2022, Kim Kardashian purchased Cindy Crawford’s oceanside home in Malibu for $70.4 million. The Mediterranean-style house is all things sleek and stylish (we’d expect no less from an icon like Crawford) with panoramic views of the beach shore below.

12. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez: $68 Million

Bennifer 2.0 bought a Beverly Hills mansion in 2023 for a cool $60 million. The massive home includes two bathrooms for every one of its dozen bedrooms, and was reportedly recently renovated. Just one year after the pricey purchase, the couple listed the home for $68 million amid speculation of their supposed separation; in August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce.

13. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: $60 Million

Kimye purchased their Hidden Hills mansion in 2014 for $20 million, but apparently that sales price was a steal — after remodeling, Kris Jenner claimed the home was worth $60 million. When the couple split, however, Kim bought the place outright with all belongings intact for $23 million.

14. Adele: $58 Million
